Yesterday the S&P 500 ended the session up ~0.3% driven almost solely by a delayed Apple rally following the WWDC conference on Monday. Most other pockets of the market ended modestly lower continuing to trade in a pretty tight range for much of the last week. Ahead of the today’s major catalysts Asian markets were mixed overnight while European indices traded modestly higher recouping some of this week’s losses.US futures were also trading modestly higher following the Oracle partnership announcements and earnings after the close (>+10%). At 8:30 the CPI report came in better than expected and futures exploded higher as Treasury yields reversed all of the post-jobs report move higher. Since the open equities have extended slightly higher and have been consolidating over the last few hours as the countdown to the FOMC rate decision has begun.
